This Monday, Co-Founder Hirad Emadi, P.E. traded his desk for a folding chair at our project site in Anaheim, CA.
He fired up the grill at one of our Southern California soil remediation projects and grilled some fresh carne asada for tacos to enjoy with our ICS crew and our client team. It was a great lunch, with even better company.
You can read every daily report from job sites and miss what matters the most. Twenty minutes at the table breaking bread with the crew, gets you that: what`s going well, what`s not, and how we can improve our game as a team to deliver the safest highest quality work. No report gives you that.
From Hirad, "These lunches are one of my favorite parts of this job, and they remind me why I do it. Not just for my family at home, but for my ICS family too. This group shows up every single day, and an afternoon like this one is my small way of saying how much they mean to me and the rest of us in the ICS family. So get out of the office and go sit with your people. The trust you build over lunch is the same trust you lean on when things get hard.
To our crew, thank you for having me at the table. To our client partners, thank you for pulling up a chair. I could not be prouder to work alongside this team!"

20 hours. 15 crew members. One shutdown window to get it right.
This timelapse captures our LDW-6 shutdown at the Michelson Water Recycling Plant (MWRP) Tertiary Filter Improvements project for Irvine Ranch Water District (IRWD). The scope: taking the Backwash Supply (BWS) system offline to connect new permanent BWS tees, remove all temporary HDPE piping, and restore full operation, all within a single 20-hour contract window.
Three crews worked in parallel across the filter vaults, with a dedicated electrical crew handling new flow meter installation alongside them. This work was executed by a team that treats coordination as seriously as the work itself. We are incredibly proud of this project team and applaud them for their dedication to the work and to the health and safety of one another.
Watch it come together!

Today is 811 Day. 8-1-1 is the national call-before-you-dig number, and calling it connects you to your local one-call center, like Dig Alert or USA North in California, who notify the utility companies in your area.
At Innovative Construction Solutions, excavation is part of nearly every project we take on, from installing residential water meters, to large-scale environmental remediation projects and/or construction of complex wastewater treatment facilities. Before any of it starts, we submit a dig ticket and wait for utility clearance. This isn`t just a step in the process, it`s how we protect our crew, our neighbors, and the infrastructure our communities rely on every day.
We`re proud participants in the CGA Damage Prevention Institute (DPI), holding ourselves to a measured, accountable standard of excavation safety, not just following best practices, but tracking our performance against them. The health and safety of our team and the communities we work in always comes first.
Know what`s below. Call 811 before every dig.

Last Friday, our Northern California team gathered for our All-Hands Meeting, bringing together updates on health and safety, operations, HR, and accounting, all under one roof. Over tacos and good conversation, the team reconnected and stayed focused on what matters most, our shared commitment to safety and operational excellence.
Our safety team led the conversation on clear communication, reinforcing that seeing something and saying something is how we look out for one another. They walked through the latest safety statistics and introduced new resources aimed at strengthening our training across the board. We also took time to look back at recent project wins and the sites our teams have been active at over the past two quarters.
We also recognized NorCal`s Health & Safety Award winners, team members who show up every day leading by example on safety. Congratulations to our Q1 and Q2 challenge coin recipients!
Outstanding Supervision and Team Building Award: Armando L., Superintendent (Q1, pictured fifth in photo 2) and Tyler M., Operator (Q2, pictured fourth in photo 3)
Hard Hat Safety Award: Steven G., Project Engineer (Q1, pictured second in photo 2) and Jose P., Superintendent (Q2, pictured second in photo 3)
We couldn`t be prouder of this team and the way they continue to grow together, not just as coworkers, but as family. Our people are truly what set ICS apart, and it showed on Friday!

Our Southern California team came together last Friday for a successful All-Hands Meeting focused on health and safety and company updates, and it`s moments like these that remind us why "Our Secret Weapon: Our People" isn`t just a slogan, it`s a core value, and it`s how we operate every single day.
This All-Hands Meeting brought updates from across the company, Health & Safety, Operations, Human Resources, and Accounting, all in one room. Our safety team walked through the importance of clear communication on our jobsites, reminding everyone that seeing something and saying something is how we keep each other safe. They also shared valuable safety statistics and updates, including new resources we`re rolling out to keep raising the bar on training. We also reviewed recent project successes and the sites ICS has been working over the last two quarters.
That secret weapon showed up clearly when we handed out our Safety Award Challenge Coins, recognizing team members who consistently lead by example on our jobsites. Congratulations to the winners of our first two quarters!
Outstanding Supervision & Team Building Award: Eddie M., Foreman (Q1, pictured second) and Danny A., Safety & Quality Field Supervisor (Q2, pictured third)
Hard Hat Safety Award: Ryan D., Laborer (Q1, pictured fourth) and Antonio C., Laborer (Q2, pictured fifth)
We are incredibly proud of this team, their commitment to health and safety practices, and how we are always growing together, not just as coworkers, but as the ICS family. At the end of the day, our people are what set ICS apart, and days like this prove it. We look forward to meeting with our Northern California team today!

Work is progressing on our underground storage tank (UST) removal and soil remediation project on West Peak of Mt. Tamalpais, an active radar station site sitting at an elevation of 2,579 feet.
The project involves the closure and removal two 30,000-gallon UST’s and one 8,000-gallon UST, along with all associated fuel piping. Our scope of work includes evacuating residual fuel and oily water, cleaning and vapor-freeing the tanks, cold-cutting and removing the tank shells for off-site scrap recycling, and excavating and hauling petroleum-impacted soil for proper off-site disposal. Once removals are complete, we will import, place, and compact clean backfill, restore the tank pits to grade, and demobilize from the site.
Executing on Mt. Tamalpais brings real logistical challenges, from narrow, winding mountain access roads and tight staging areas to working within a protected municipal watershed. Our team is managing each phase safely, on schedule, and in close coordination with the prime contractor and local regulatory agencies.
We are proud of the NorCal project crews for keeping safety and environmental stewardship at the center of every task and this project!

Another major milestone in the books! Our team recently completed a critical planned shutdown at the IRWD MWRP Tertiary Treatment facility in Irvine, CA, a tightly coordinated effort to keep essential water infrastructure running reliably for the community. From setting bypass piping to precision forklift rigging and operation, every phase took careful planning, skill, and three field crews that executed under pressure, safely. Hats off to everyone who made it happen. The shutdown is just one chapter of our ongoing work on the IRWD MWRP Tertiary project, where our team continues to deliver complex upgrades that strengthen the reliability of the District`s water infrastructure for years to come.
This is the work that keeps communities running, and we`re proud to be part of it. Stay tuned, a full timelapse of the shutdown work is coming soon!
